Happy Birthday Iraq

Iraq is (still) a mess: the reasons to justify the war declaration have proven to be insufficient. Iraq didn’t hide Weapons of Mass Destruction and the former political regime was not connected to Al Qaeda. The opression of people by their government is generally labeled as ‘a domestic affair’. No ally of the US, not even Israël, has demanded the invasion of Iraq. The UN Security Council argued strongly against it.

Afreux designed a congratulation sticker in honor of the third and fourth anniversary of the invasion.
For the fifth edition, we’d like to ask the same thing to a multitude of people.

The Idea:

Anyone interested designs a two-colored sticker (technical specs added) on a format of 9 x 11 cm (with 3mm overflow), in portrait or landscape style. And sends it to irak@afreux.be before the 20th of april.

A selection of designs will be silkscreen printed on to vinyl stickers by Afreux, at no charge at all. The circulation depends entirely on the number of participants. Preferably: as many as possible.
The sweethearts of X-OC are offering support in the form of exposing film, we’re on the lookout for kind sponsors of stickerpaper.

Silkscreen prints are peculiar: details are enclosed in attachment. Your suggestions and/or questions are most welcome by mail or phone (03-232.95.93)

We’ll provide updates on this sticker action on our website www.afreux.be/site/?news, this site will also advertise the time the stickers can be collected. We’d like to see as much stickers possible in equally as many possible cities.

We’re actively scouting as many (known and lesser known) people to collaborate on this project, we’re looking for a space to exhibit a broad selection of stickers and we’re trying to get the national press interested. Spread the word ad infinitum, if you find the cause worthy.

Glue Iraq.
